As a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish, Duke has spent his life in service to his community.
He served as a firefighter for 20 years in the Bossier City Fire Department, receiving multiple unit citation awards for saving lives. Duke has also served as a certified Emergency Medical Technician for 25 years. Whether it was in a burning building or in the Red River, he has risked his life to save men, women, and children from harm. These experiences shaped the man he is today and the beliefs he holds dear.
Duke has also spent his time creating jobs and starting businesses in the Bossier area.
As Co-owner of Acadiana Mortgage, Acadiana Farms, and Acadiana Energy, he has experienced both the rewards of creating businesses but also the impediments to innovation government unnecessarily creates through excessive taxation and regulation. Duke opened Acadiana Mortgage in 1998, Acadiana Farms in 2000, and Acadiana Energy in 2014. Each of these businesses are in operation today, employ Bossier citizens, and contribute to Louisiana’s economy.
As a true conservative, Duke is committed to voting against taxes and will advocate finding ways to reduce the size of Louisiana’s growing budget.
He believes Louisiana families have been taxed enough. He is pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, pro-school choice, and believes that the best way for government to empower Louisianians is to get out of the way.
In addition to both Duke’s community service and business experience, he has been extremely involved with conservative, sportsmen, and religious organizations.
He was first elected to the Republican State Central Committee and the Bossier Parish Republican Parish Executive Committee (PEC) and re-elected again this year. On the Bossier Republican PEC, he currently serves as Vice Chairman. He has also served as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2012 and as a Statewide Trump Delegate in July. He is a Founding Member and Past Chairman of the Northwest Chapter of the Delta Waterfowl Foundation, a Life Member of the NRA for more than 20 years, and a member of Gun Owners of America. He is also a member of Louisiana Right to Life, Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), the Louisiana Homebuilders Association, Bossier Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. Lastly, he has worked to serve the members of our armed forces on the Military Affairs Council.
Duke is a family man who will stand for our conservative family values.
Duke has been married to Kara Herriage Lowrie since 1997. They have three children – Sydni (age 13), Alexis (age 10), and Alexander (age 10). They live in Benton, La and enjoy as much hunting and fishing as possible. The Lowrie family are active members of Bellaire Baptist Church.
